Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

My friends at YoBeat.com have been "making fun of snowboarding since 1997" and they're also up with the first footage from yesterday's U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix Finals at Copper Mountain, in case you want to see what those double corks I've been talking about look like in real life.

Shaun White won the thing, that guy from Dancing With the Stars took 2nd, and Summit County local and Breckenridge team rider Zach Black made the podium in 3rd place. Our horse in the race, Steve Fisher, finished in 7th.

NBC is airing the Finals today in full HD glory with better camera angles and a steadier hand, but you'll still want to watch through to the end of this shaky YoBeat clip to find out the exclusive answer to which kind of cookies Shaun White prefers:

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
