Adiel Mitchell is making good on his New Year’s resolutions, including the one in which the Denver-based songwriter, dancer and singer promised himself he would perform at least once a month. He played at both the Westword Music Showcase and the Underground Music Showcase before snagging this week’s headline show — a first for Mitchell — at the Moon Room at Summit. In between gigs, he dropped a new single: “Sunset Bay Cafe,” a glossy synth pop-meets-R&B number more suited to Miami than the nearby mountains. Not surprisingly, it doesn’t depart from his mission to make music “that people can bop their heads to”; in other words, simple but plenty effective.
