Ryan Adams, the prolific singer-songwriter and pinball wizard of sad jams, has taken to social media lately to post insights on albums released throughout his career. For example, Adams writes about Love Is Hell: “It is my Naked Lunch, my Dharma is my youth...Love isn’t really hell, but being alive knowing it can’t save you is.” All of this reflection comes after Adams scrapped a long-hyped album, saying the new songs felt stale and that he’s still reeling from the death of his brother, who passed away last year. For Adams, however, the winding road always runs through music, and he’s as active as ever, performing on The Voice and penning a Dokken-like jingle for local radio station 105.5/The Colorado Sound and even one for Westword. He’ll be performing with the Unknown Band at this one-off Red Rocks show, which should be full of surprise and feeling. [Organizer's description]
