Highland Tap & Burger
When Highland Tap & Burger opened in 2010, it was designed as a watering hole for a neighborhood in flux: Northwest Denver was rapidly gentrifying, displacing much of the Mexican-American community that had been there for multiple generations (most of the Italian families were already gone). But Highland Tap wanted to bring everyone to the table, to be a place where people could gather and talk about community issues while enjoying a good burger and a drink. Over the past decade, the bar has succeeded in its goal, and expanded its mission to new taprooms in Sloan’s Lake, Denver Tech Center and Westminster.
