Taqueria Mi Pueblo

Taqueria Mi Pueblo has held down the corner of 23rd and Federal for the better part of two decades, continuously adding onto and improving both the building and the menu. They've joined the $2 breakfast burrito fray that marks this stretch of Federal, they offer a whole roast chicken special done in the style of Sinaloa, and their rico menudo is offered every day of the week (despite what the exterior sign claims). Try the very traditional and rustic pork carnitas or a platter of charry tacos al pastor topped with some salsa verde from the ladle-your-own salsa bar. Hopefully this unassuming taco joint will continue to serve up simple goodness to the rapidly gentrifying Jefferson Park neighborhood.
