(UPDATE: The video above, which I just saw on Deadspin, seems to support Cuban's thug theory).
Mavericks owner Mark Cuban has finally apologized to Kenyon Martin and Kenyon Martin's mom -- sort of.
Cuban, who apparently called Mrs. K-Mart's son a "thug" after game three, writes on his blog this morning that he knows "exactly how it feels. I've also had my family and friends spit on at games in this series. So I know how unpleasant that is as well." And so, he says, "I would like to apologize to you and your mom KMart for my comment. I should have not said anything and I was wrong."
Which is cute, I suppose, but I'm a little confused as to why Mark Cuban assumes Kenyon Martin would spend his off-day reading "Blog Maverick." Everyone knows thugs don't read blogs. And you have to assume that had Cuban also, say, phoned or e-mailed Martin directly, he would mention that in his blog, to clear the air even further. He does not. And so we can only assume that this is his only attempt to apologize. Which is hardly an attempt at all.

Either way, Mrs. Mart should definitely beat Cuban over the head with her purse on Wednesday, if only so we can watch Kenny Smith diagram the assault on his half-time gizmo thingy.
