Celebrate the world's longest main street at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 11, when Satellite Bar, 308 East Colfax Avenue, hosts the monthly Happy on the Hill social. Satellite will offer drink specials, and CityGrille, located right across the street at 321 East Colfax, will supply the snacks.(Is it too much to hope for chile cheese fries?) For more info, go to www.mycolfax.org.

But don't enjoy yourself so much that you forget to turn on the TV at 8 p.m., because that's when the Travel Channel will show the episode of Man v. Food in which Adam Rich takes on the seven-pound burrito at Jack-n-Grill, the New Mexican restaurant at 2524 Federal Boulevard, after visiting the Buckhorn and Cherry Cricket. If you subscribe to Cafe Bites, our weekly restaurant newsletter that comes out Tuesday evening, you already know the above, of course. To subscribe, e-mail cafe@westword.com.

Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism. You can help by participating in our "I Support" membership program, allowing us to keep covering Denver with no paywalls.
