Reader: Put the brakes on the Paddy Wagon

Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines:

The Great American Food Truck Race descended on Denver this past weekend, bringing lots of food and fun, as well as comments like this from Kay Ryan:

Uhmm... try not to use the term, "paddy wagon," which originated from a time when the Irish were rounded up in large jail trucks; hence, the term, "Paddy" (a depersonalizing referring to all Irish men during a time when anti-Irish sentiment and harassment of Irish immigrants was very prevalent).

Never mind that the Paddy Wagon is the name of Chicago Louie's hot dog truck , brought to us by Michael Wahaltere.

For a heaping helping of the Great American Food Truck Race, see Lori Midson's roundup.
