Tonight: Five-course wine dinner at Rioja

Rioja, 1431 Larimer Street, will present a five-course wine dinner featuring dishes by chef/owner Jen Jasinski for $95. Keep reading for the full menu.

First: Lobster, apple and fennel vol au vent, paired with Vivanco Rose 2009.

Second: Quince ravioli, pear and pine-nut compote and herb salad, paired with Bodegas Ostatu Blanco 2009.

Third: Confit duck leg, roasted delicata squash stuffed with matsutake risotto and dried cherry Tempranillo sauce, paired with Palacios Remondo La Vendimia 2009.

Fourth: Sausage-stuffed venison loin wrapped in prosciutto with chestnuts and black mission figs, topped with a caramelized onion-wine reduction and paired with Palacios Remondo La Montessa 2007.

Fifth: Date-almond "Newton," red-wine poached pear, white chocolate/pear ice cream paired with Jorge Ordonez Seleccion Especial 2007.
