There are plenty of reasons why you might want to plant your own kitchen garden -- money and health foremost among them. But how do you go about figuring out what to plant, and how do you design your garden so that you get the same aesthetic pleasure from fruits and vegetables that you do from flowers?

Writer Anna Pavord, gardening correspondent for The Independent and author of several books, will lead a Kitchen Garden Planting and Design seminar tonight at the Denver Botanic Gardens, 1005 York Street.

There will be a 6 p.m. Slow Food Denver social hour and tasting preceding Pavord's talk, which starts at 7 p.m.

Admission is $30 for the general public; sign up by e-mailing [email protected], visiting www.botanicgardens.org or calling 720-865-3580.
