Brik on York owner, sommelier and current chef Travis Gee says the restaurant represents the culmination of a lifelong dream. He did most of the renovation himself and turned the former movie theater and watch shop into a comfortable space that accommodates diners, wine lovers and, on the weekends, fans of live music. Gee acknowledges that the Brik brand is still evolving and that the future could hold some changes for the space. In the meantime, notes Gretchen Kurtz in her recent review of Brik, the pizzas coming out of the oven "have a lot going for them," and the lengthy wine list "is a draw in and of itself."
