Atmosphere inside and out of the Marquis Theater before indie hip hop band Doomtree’s performance on May 20, 2016.
The many-headed monster of indie hip-hop, Minneapolis collective Doomtree, gave a full-force performance at the Marquis Theater on Friday night — despite missing one of its strongest forces, Dessa. Another Minneapolis native, Sean Anonymous, also performed a winning, flibbertigibbet-laden set, featuring an extended freestyle based on keywords provided by the crowd: dogs, Twizzlers, hoverboards, and of course, PBR (the show was sponsored by Pabst as a pre-show for its Saturday festival, Project Pabst). Local hip-hop act Input + Broken opened the show. All photos by Brandon Marshall.
