Yeehaw! When Howard Vern of the MLK Colorado Holiday Commission launched the Rodeo of Champions in 2006, he soon received a phone call from Coretta Scott King. "Really?" she asked, "a rodeo?" Vern's response: "When in Rome." Or when the National Western Stock Show is in town, which is why the Rodeo of Champions brought world-class African-American steer wrestlers, bronc riders and other rodeo wranglers to Denver yesterday. Photographer Brandon Marshall was there to catch all the action.
