40 West Arts just introduced its Día de los Muertos celebration last year, but since Pirate: Contemporary Art, a newcomer in the district, had been marking the holiday for more than three decades, the festivities got off to a fast start. And they were bigger than ever on November 1, 2019, with fire spinners, face painters and art galore.
