East Colfax Avenue was once the Gateway to the Rockies. But what's left? Vintage signs and, in a few cases, still-operating motels.

The eighteen-room Westerner Motel on East Colfax Avenue has been sold for $915,000. This deal comes just weeks after the Westerner's neighbor, the Sand & Sage Motel, sold for $1.45 million. Here's our look at some of the motels along what was once billed the Gateway to the Rockies, heading east from the All Inn Motel to the "adult resort" of Mon Chalet.
