An estimated 30,000 demonstrators, some carrying pictures of Martin Luther King Jr. or wearing t-shirts that said "Black Lives Matter" and "I Can't Breathe", gathered for Denver's annual MLK Day Marade on January 19. The combination march/parade, one of the largest in the city's history, featured speeches from officials including Governor John Hickenlooper, Mayor Michael Hancock and Senators Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner.
