Gotye. Name ring a bell? Surely you’ve heard the tune “Somebody I Used to Know,” or at least seen the video. The clip is all sorts of artsy, with the Aussie-by-way-of-Belgium singer and Kimbra, his collaborator, chilling in their birthday suits and then painted in time-lapse to blend in seamlessly with the background.

The song, on the other hand, does anything but blend in. If you haven’t heard it, the tune has the most incisive melody and lyrics this side of “Pumped Up Kicks,” which helped it become a bit of a sensation last year.

It’s caused enough of a stir, evidently, that Gotye’s upcoming date at the Bluebird Theater on Friday, April 6, has been moved over to the Ogden Theatre. (The show originally slated for the Ogden on 4/6, meanwhile, featuring Band of Skulls and We Are Augustines, has been moved to the Bluebird.) Page down to become reacquainted with the original version of “Somebody That I Used to Know” and then see a pretty sweet cover rendition.
