We Broncos fans have mighty high expectations.
And sometimes, a win isn’t enough to put smiles on our faces.
Yesterday’s 2015 NFL season kickoff against the Baltimore Ravens is a case in point. The Ravens are an excellent team considered a Super Bowl contender in many quarters, and Denver squelched them with a smothering, attacking defense that could develop into the franchise’s best in a generation.
But the 19-13 victory was achieved without Peyton Manning and the offense notching a single offensive touchdown; the only time the team found the end zone was via a pick-six from cornerback Aqib Talib.
Takes on Manning’s struggles lit up Twitter during and after the game, with many observers likening his performance to that of Tim Tebow — and believe it or not, quite a few commentators would gladly trade one for the other.
Look below to see the twenty most memorable tweets about the game that we found, illustrated by images from the contest.

Peyton washed and the Ravens offense didn't have a matchup with Denver's defense. Plenty of people expected the Broncos to win.
