Are you “Crushing on Colorado”? Downtown Colorado Inc., a nonprofit membership organization committed to building communities in this state, has launched a campaign for Valentine’s Day that celebrates a love of Colorado people, places and things.

DCI wants you to share your love for Colorado by snapping a photo “crushing” on your favorite Colorado institution — whether a building, business, place or person — and then uploading it to the Crushing on Colorado photo contest on DCI’s Facebook page, or on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #crushingoncolo. You should include a caption about the object of your affection.

People can then vote for their favorites on the Crushing Facebook page; the photo that receives the most votes by 5 p.m. Monday, February 29, will receive assorted prizes, as well as free registration for the Vibrant Colorado Downtowns Conference in Pueblo September 20-23.

“We work with communities across the state regularly, so we know that Coloradans are passionate about our state,” says Katherine Correll, DCI executive director. “We want to give folks the opportunity to celebrate the people and places they love that are also so uniquely Colorado. We hope that this movement will gain momentum and people will continue to share why they are crushing on Colorado.”
