Chautauqua Dining Hall

Chautauquas -- cultural and self-improvement centers -- were hot properties in the nineteenth century, but only three remain in the entire country, including the Boulder Chautauqua, founded in 1898. The 26-acre campus is centered on a grand Victorian dining hall, featuring great views of the Flatirons and a menu of American standards. It sits at the base of the Flatirons, Boulder's favorite natural playground, which makes it an ideal location for post-exercise beers and sliders. And given Chautauqua's status as a popular spot to propose, you'll often spot just-engaged (and thrifty) couples lovingly embracing over celebratory martinis.
