Climax Lounge celebrated its fortieth birthday in 2011 (around the time the name was changed to the New Climax Lounge), proving that time flies when you're having fun. The joint has a colorful past: In the '90s, as the Raven, it hosted punk-rock acts; the Fray and M. Ward have also played there. These days the venue brings in more R&B and jazz bands on the weekends.
