According to the Colorado Springs Gazette, DeCarlo, 45, had been sharing his Black Forest area home, located on the 8700 block of Shipman Lane, with one Matthew Fancher, a mutual friend of him and his adult son, 22-year-old Anthony DeCarlo.
Maybe "former friend" is the more appropriate term, though. The elder DeCarlo reportedly told Fancher to hit the highway -- and he appears to have been mighty serious about it. When Fancher turned up at the house to get his stuff, at the unusal hour of 1 a.m. on Wednesday, January 9, authorities believe Glenn grabbed a gat and opened fire.
Problem is, Anthony was the one who wound up eating lead.
The two gunshots that struck Anthony aren't thought to be life-threatening. However, they were a threat to Glenn DeCarlo's freedom. He was busted on suspicion of attempted first-degree murder and first-degree assault. A $50,000 bond has also been issued in his name.
Granted, Glenn would be in even greater risk of long-term imprisonment if his aim had been better...so maybe things worked out for the best after all.
