‘Tis the season for Peeps dioramas, and the Washington Post‘s contest brought in some astonishing entries, led by an amazing recreation of a scene from the movie Up. But this winner wasn’t the only diorama that took flight. A previous semi-finalist recreated the October 2009 Fort Collins scene featuring Falcon “Balloon Boy” Heene and his bogus flight across a big chunk of Colorado. See the pic and the Post‘s description below.
SEMIFINALIST“Balloon Peep (Based on the Balloon Boy)” by David Higginbotham, Coleen Kivlahan and Peter Higginbotham of Manassas re-creates the Falcon Heene scandal… The dioramists include a TV with a “Breaking News” screen shot and a Peep hiding in the toy box upstairs.
