Pizzeria Locale Boulder is hosting a special Apertivo Hour today from 4 to 6 p.m., in honor of special guests Mirco and Gary Snaidero, who are visiting from Italy. The father-and-son duo recently refurbished Locale’s VDF prosciutto slicer-the first slicer of its kind to be used here in the States-and will be on hand to slice prosciutto, answer questions and mingle with guests. The apertivo snacks will include $2 prosciutto platters and $2 tartine open-faced sandwiches, as well as such drink specials as $2 Peroni and $4 Contratto spritz. Call 303-442-3003 for more information.

Work Options for Women will hold its monthly cooking class today with guest instructor Jake Grant, executive chef of Euclid Hall. The class will run from 6 to 8 p.m. at Cafe Options and tickets are $50; purchase yours and learn more here. All proceeds from the class will benefit Work Options for Women.

All through November, the Denver Bicycle Cafe is donating $1 to Trips for Kids Denver/Metro for every pint of Mockery Brewing’s Rakau IPA that is poured from the new Confluence Tap Handle. To celebrate the installation of the new handle, the cafe will be throwing a free launch party from 6 to 8 p.m. today. For more on the Confluence Tap Handle mission and the launch party, check out the event’s Facebook page.
