Bats aren’t just for Halloween anymore. The only flying mammal is actually a vital part of the world’s ecosystem — not to mention pretty darn cute when you get a good look at them. And you can do just that today at the Live Bat Presentation at the Wildlife Experience. Learn about the cute yet delightfully creepy critters from Rob Mies of the Organization for Bat Conservation. He’ll have several species of live bats on hand, from the Colorado-native little brown bat to the flying fox, a bat with a seven-foot wingspan. You’ll learn fun bat facts and have ugly bat myths dispelled. After the presentation, wander the museum’s new Globeology exhibit and look for animatronic bats in caves and under waterfalls.
Watch the presentation today at 1:30 and 3 p.m. at the Wildlife Experience, 10035 South Peoria Street in Parker. Admission to the museum is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors, $6 for kids three to twelve and free for kids under three. For more info, visit www.twexp.org or call 720-488-3300.
