The series of dance performances both solo and group will use both traditional Middle Eastern music and some surprising modern songs. There will be sword dances, candle dances, drum solos and a little alternative music, Chaya says. Not to mention Muse, Devo and Led Zeppelin.
Most of the performers are Chayas students from classes with the Highland Hills Parks and Recreation District. Some of them are also in the performance troupe Serpent Moon that Im in, and some are students of the other ladies, so its kind of a family affair. We always have such a good time, she says.
Join in the good time tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Bug Theatre, 3654 Navajo Street; admission is $10 for adults and $5 for kids under ten. Call 303-477-5977 or visit www.bugtheatre.info.
