Here in Denver, you can do it with feathers, beads and a bit of bawdy burlesque at Lannie's Clocktower Cabaret or at Dazzle, where the Blue Sky Carnival Band will be blowin' the blues and costumes, face-painting and Louisiana cuisine will be the order of the evening.
But if you want to take part in the state's longest-running Shortest Mardi Gras Parade, you'll have to head to Longmont and Oscar Blues or its sibling in Lyons, where the party will include such Louisiana specialties as roast pig, gumbo, alligator meat, oysters on the half-shell and king cake, all washed down with traditional hurricanes or Oskar's prize-winning Deviant Dale's IPA. Jackamo will provide the tunes in Longmont and the Zydecoasters will let the good times roll in Lyons.
