Just in time to add some romance to Valentine’s Day week, actress Liv Ullman tells the story of how she and Swedish director Ingmar Bergman met, fell in love and made eleven films together in Liv & Ingmar, a documentary that screens at the Sie FilmCenter today. “They ended up having an intimate relationship. She was really his muse, both in life and on screen. So it’s part love story and part about their collaboration to make the films,” says Ernie Quiroz, Sie programming director. “I think it’s a film that fans of cinema would like to see. But even for people who like to hear a good love story, I think it would appeal to them, too.”

The documentary, directed by Dheeraj Akolkar, tells the story through interviews with Ullmann and includes excerpts from her films with Bergman, behind-the-scenes footage and personal letters. The one-day-only screening begins at 2 p.m. at the theater, 2510 East Colfax Avenue. For more information and to buy tickets, visit denverfilm.org.
