Harry Potter's reign has come and gone, but you can still get the kids to read with the right material. A good place to look for that next magical kid-lit fix is the work of N.D. Wilson, and there's no better time to start than 4:30 p.m. today, when Wilson appears at the Highlands Ranch Tattered Cover, 9315 Dorchester Street, to read from and sign his latest book, 100 Cupboards.

The first book in a planned trilogy, Cupboards tells the story of a sheltered boy, Henry, who goes to live with his aunt and uncle in the small town of Henry, Kansas, after his parents disappear. As Henry the boy adjusts to his new life in Henry the town, he discovers a wall of cupboards in his room that seem to be magical doorways leading to other worlds. The adventure that follows is full of the kind of magic, mystery and danger kids love. A cast of colorful characters, sly humor and a distinctive voice all help Wilson's compelling fantasy world come to life and ensnare readers with its mystical charms.
