“It was really fun last year, and this year we’re just trying to do a little bit better and celebrate nerdiness,” says Bop Skizzum’s Andy “Rok” Guerrero. “I think it will be awesome to see people dancing in their nerdy outfits, and then you’ll see something like Wolverine.”
Besides the opportunity to dance the night away, there will be a series of competitions to crown a Nerd Prom king and queen, plus a costume contest, a nerd lounge with vintage arcade games, a photo booth and lots more.
And in addition to headliners Bop Skizzum (natch), danceable tunes will be provided live by Filthy T, the Messers and Medic, with KTCL’s Alf spinning vintage nerd 45s between sets. The party starts at 7 p.m. at Summit Music Hall, 1902 Blake Street; tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door, and everyone sixteen and up is welcome. For more info, visit bopskizzum.com/nerdprom.
