Anyone can rock the red lipstick, vintage dress and retro updo look; it’s just a matter of practice. Tonight, during First Friday, you can learn some retro tricks at Zia’s Boutique’s How-To Pin-Up Bash. The party will feature Amanda Aragon — the owner of Ruby Faye’s Vin-tage Collection, an online clothing shop — who will share tips with women who want to bring out their “inner bombshell.”
“Amanda works across the hall from me, and she just always looks so cute with her ’40s and ’50s look,” says Suzie Reylea, owner of Zia’s. “I carry kind of new vintage-y-looking clothing and she does stuff online, so I just said, ‘We can kind of mix our stuff together, the old with the new.’”
Reylea features a different local designer every First Friday at her store, staying open late to serve champagne and usually offering a one-time discount. Tonight’s free event starts at 4 p.m. at Zia’s, 70 Broadway, and is BYOM (Bring Your Own Makeup). For more information, go to ziasboutiquedenver.com or call 303-993-5689.
