Return to Paris is the last opportunity to experience the Colorado Symphony’s musical companion program to the Denver Art Museum’s Passport to Paris exhibition. The concert, conducted by Jeffrey Kahane, features an homage to Baroque composer François Couperin, with music by Maurice Ravel and Thomas Adès. Accompanied by the orchestra, eighteen-year-old pianist Jan Lisiecki will play a concerto by Frédéric Chopin.

Lisiecki may be young, notes Anthony Pierce, Colorado Symphony vice president of artistic administration, “but he already has a great career. This kid plays his face off.” If you love piano, he adds, this performance is “not to be missed. It’s great for someone who’s not always coming to the symphony. It’s a January night, it’s cold outside, and this will really be a warm, beautiful night. It’s such roman-tic, sensual music, with many colors and textures from the orchestra.”

Return to Paris begins at 7:30 p.m. tonight and tomorrow, and 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, at Boettcher Concert Hall. Tickets range from $20 to $83 and can be purchased at coloradosymphony.org. For more information, call the box office at 303-623-7876.
