“It’s huge for us to have the whole industry right in our back yard, because we’re from here, all of our skis are made here, we ski here, and now most of our business is done here through the SIA trade show,” says Icelantic Skis co-founder Ben Anderson, who will help welcome the return of the SnowSports Industries America Snow Show to the Colorado Convention Center today through February 1.

The trade-show floor itself is industry-only, but Anderson has been leading the charge to invite all of Colorado’s ski and snowboard community to the parties that surround it, and he’ll be hosting the fourth annual Icelantic Winter on the Rocks, featuring Major Lazer and Damian Marley, at Red Rocks Amphitheatre tomorrow. Tickets are $52.80 at axs.com or 888-929-7849; VIP tickets are $100 and include access to a VIP warming hut and lounge. “It’s turned into one of the most iconic events for the trade show and one of Denver’s biggest winter concerts, not to mention a great way for us to welcome the ski and snowboard industry to Denver and show off some of what Colorado has to offer,” Anderson says.

Other SIA parties open to the public include a free show at the Ogden Theatre tonight with Run the Jewels and Metz (RSVP at vans.com/hovdenver) and the TransWorld Snowboarding Riders’ Poll Awards Show on Friday at 7 p.m., also at the Ogden.
