The bike decorating will begin at 7:45 a.m. in front of Menchie’s Frozen Yogurt, 2656 West 32nd Avenue; the parade starts at 9:30 a.m. and makes its way to Hirshorn Park, 3000 Tejon Street, where there will be food, games, music and the main attraction: the gigantic sundae, to be revealed at 12:30 p.m.
Little Man has been making the giant sundae every year since 2008, which was also when the ice creamery opened – “so the event also serves as a celebration of our birthday,” says Little Man general manager Loren Martinez. “For the initial event, the sundae was forty feet long. Last year’s was sixty feet. This year, we're featuring one hundred feet worth of handmade vanilla-bean ice cream, Hershey's milk-chocolate hot fudge, rainbow sprinkles, whipped cream, and, of course, several cherries on top.”
There will also be music from Trout Steak Revival, National Anthem Singers, the Pettis Family, Little Man Drum Line and others. Get more information at lohimerchants.com.
