Allison Young Quartet plays Gerry Mulligan

Saxophonist Allison Young returns to Nocturne and pays tribute to the great baritone saxophonist Gerry Mulligan with her quartet (Kate Williams - trumpet, Domi Edson - bass, and Ian Spillman - drums). The Allison Young Quartet captures the essence of the west coast/cool jazz chordless quartet with a lively mix of Mulligan hits, Chet Baker tunes as well as lesser known compositions.

Allison Young is a Colorado based woodwind artist who performs as a bandleader and side-person for groups such as the Drew Zaremba Jazz Fellowship, the Colorado Jazz Repertory Orchestra, and the Annie Booth Big Band. Most recently, she toured North America as the baritone saxophonist for the World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra. She has performed alongside artists such as Wayne Bergeron, Sheila Jordan, Greg Gisbert, Steve Kovalcheck and Jim White, and recently graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a degree in Music Business.
