The Louisa Amend Quintet

Louisa Amend is a vocalist and educator based out of Denver, Colorado. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2016 with a Bachelors of Music Education and was a member of a numerous premier ensembles (one earning a Downbeat Magazine best of award) and opera productions produced by the university. After teaching music in public schools for a few years Louisa transitioned into working as a freelance musician and founding her own voice studio and she is quickly becoming a mainstay in the Denver jazz scene. In fall of 2022 and again in 2023, Louisa partnered with pianist Eric Gunnison to perform a special artist-in-residency at Nocturne honoring the late American jazz singer, Carmen McRae - these shows were met with a truly marvelous reception.
