Reader: Some trucks have been serving all year round

Food trucks are revving up for the first big event of the spring season, the“Rolling Into Hunger” bash that benefits Food Bank of the Rockies on April 29 in the parking lot of Mile High Spirits, 2920 Larimer Street. Stephen Daniels and Mandy Birks, owners of the Crock Spot, have joined forces with Jake Gandolfo, who was a contestant on season one of Gordan Ramsay’s MasterChef, on the blowout, which runs from 2 to 8 p.m.

But some trucks never went into hibernation during the cold months.

Food Truck Season? There is no season. Several food trucks were out all year long. Manna From Heaven, Basic Kneads, Bob’s Blazin, Route 40, Arepas, PinkTank, Chef Driven, Crock Spot, and Street Eats were out serving serious food all winter long. They were the ones who kept the Food Truck industry alive while others went into hibernation. Where are all the articles about the Food Truck Row? THOSE are the events that livened up Denver every week. The people who slaved away in the bitter cold deserve a couple articles, too!
