There’s sad news on Market Street — and it’s not the closing of Buca de Beppo. No, six blocks away at 2019 Market, the space occupied by Mori Japanese Restaurant is flying a rain-soaked, “temporarily closed for renovation” sign. More telling, though is the sign on the other side of the chained-off-parking lot, which notes that the building is available.
Mori had been open since 1948, and introduced generations of Denverites to the joy of sushi. So this isn’t just another restaurant closure, but a piece of Denver’s history we’re losing.
