Denver loves the home-grown chain Chipotle, and the restaurant empire has been loving Denver right back. On September 11, several Chipotle locations donated a portion of their proceeds to B-Cycle. And today, all metro-area Chipotles will ll be giving 50 percent of the proceeds from sales of burritos, burrito bowls, taco plates or salads to Denver Urban Gardens.

“Chipotle’s always conducted several major fundraisers for Denver non-profits throughout the year,” says Linhart PR’s Andy Peters, “but this year they all happened to fall around the same time. In addition to these two fundraising days you saw for B-cycle and Denver Urban Gardens, they supported the Denver Zoo recently, as well. And on top of that, you’ll be seeing an Halloween event come along fairly soon, so be on the lookout.” (We’give you more details on the Halloween benefit as soon they’re made public.)

In the meantime, here’s how you can participate to help out DUG:

First, print out the flier below; you can also find it on the Denver Urban Gardens website, http://dug.org. (No big deal if you forget the flier — just remember to tell your cashier that you’d like to donate to DUG today.) Then visit any metro-area Chipotle, order some food — say you’re donating to DUG — and eat up, knowing you’ve helped to make gardening a reality for residents across the city.

This year, make your gift count –
