Point Easy's owners have transformed the former Whittier Pub, a cozy and dark neighborhood bar, into a bright, welcoming spot filled with light. The cocktail menu is funky and experimental: There are a few twists on the classics, like a gin and tonic made with Thai chile and basil simple syrup, and a pistachio-spiked version of a daiquiri. It's also got the chops to be a destination for diners beyond the Whittier neighborhood, serving up creative and seasonal fare like mussels in cider (not white wine) sauce and pork loin with a vibrant green polenta verde.
