Rosalee’s Pizzeria in Longmont just made the Italy-based 50 Top Pizza list, landing at number 14 on its 2025 ranking of best places to grab a slice in the United States.

The international recognition — Rosalee's is the only place in Colorado to land on this top-50 list — is a reflection of owners James and Amy Ross’s approach that favors quality and balance. The establishment was also named by Westword as 2022's Best Destination Pizza, in a metro area that we think has plenty of great pizzas.

“My style is less is more. I think it's ultimately all about dough, sauce, and cheese,” James Ross says.

In their comments on the Westword Facebook post of the news, fans and foes of Rosalee's get saucy. Says Missy:
My favorite in Colorado. I used to live a couple blocks from there for only a few months and I swear I was eating there a couple times a week.
Offers Mickey:
Went today! Hands down some of the best pizza I've had out in Colorado after eleven-plus years!
Counters Curtis:
Having been to ltaly, none of you even knows what pizza looks like.
Suggests Brent:
There are plenty of pretty legit arguments that pizza was invented in NYC, not Italy... but whatever. I learned a long time ago, after moving here from the northeast, Coloradans like their pizza crispy. Ew. And nope. Real New York pizza needs to be eaten with two hands and folded. If it doesn't need to be eaten like that, don't call it New York pizza. Period.
Notes Jill:
NY pizza should have some grease running down your wrist after you have correctly folded it.
Replies Phil:
I've had a lot of good pizza in my life, but Colorado artisan is what I'm on lately. Rosalee's, definitely. Pizzeria Leopold in Lakewood, love Chicago thin crust, too, lot of that in Colorado. What's your fav Colorado artisan?
Counters Eric:
There’s no good pizza in Colorado! This is a fact, not opinion.
Concludes Dustin:
No mountains in Colorado, either.
