Sexy Pizza

The shtick at Sexy Pizza is the re-creation of the archetypal New York thin, a good (if not singular) version of the classic outer-boroughs red-and-white with a hand-tossed crust, a sweet handmade sauce and toppings laid on thick. But the kitchen also does calzones, stromboli, meatball sandwiches and -- a genius invention -- "Ball in a Hat," which is essentially a single-meatball meatball sandwich wrapped in dough and baked. The Cap Hill location is particularly popular at night, while the lunch deal is a big hit on South Pearl, the second Sexy Pizza to open.
