While Charlie Hunter has visited these parts many times with his trio, he usually plays bigger venues like the Bluebird and the Boulder Theater. What makes this pair of dates tonight and tomorrow night with the Ron Miles Group so special is that they're playing at the very intimate Dazzle Restaurant and Lounge (930 Lincoln Street). It's rare opportunity to see the eight-string guitarist up close and a chance to hear him play with Miles, one of Denver's finest trumpeters, and keyboardist Erik Deutsch, who's toured with Hunter and recorded on his two most recent albums, Baboon Strength and Mistico. Shows are at 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. Thursday, July 23 and Friday, July 24. Tickets are $25.
