Club Nights

Layo & Bushwacka's lengthy tenure in electronic dance music began when they were teenagers at some of the U.K.'s original acid-house parties back in 1988. Teaming up with the likes of the Shamen's Mr. C and the Rat Pack, they were soon hosting their own gigs as well as putting in time behind the decks at events all over the U.K. and spreading the gospel through pirate radio. Layo's involvement eventually led to his opening the groundbreaking dance club the End in London with Mr. C. The End has since become one of the most influential clubs in the world, hosting nights by such electronic-music luminaries as Fatboy Slim, Roni Size and Andy C. Favoring the sound of progressive house and tech house themselves, Layo & Bushwacka have released several anthems, including the massive Love Story, 1999's Ear Candy and their recently released mix CD, All Night Long, on The End Recordings. Bushwacka also released a bootleg remix of Michael Jackson's seminal "Billie Jean" late last year. (The tune blew up, and Bushwacka found himself facing almost as many legal hassles as the King of Pop himself.) In addition to hosting their own night at the End, ambitious live performances have taken the two around the world and back and have earned them distinguished residencies at Space in Ibiza and Sirena in Brazil. Denver couldn't be far behind: Catch them at the Church this Thursday, June 24.
