Today's exploration of the freaky world of sublime musical stupidity takes us back to the long-gone days of 1989, when it was marginally acceptable to include a freakishly awkward rap number in your bland teen comedy and not expect every actual teen that saw it to throw up in their mouth a little bit. It's a clip caled "Top That" from Teen Witch, an absoludicrous late-'80s movie, and it is easily the worst rap I have ever heard -- and I am a longtime connoisseur of epically bad musical embarrassments and bizarre self-expression. You can find the video after the jump, and I hope you enjoy (that can't be the right word...) it as much as I do. And if you can "Top That," I would love to hear it.
Keep Westword Free... Since we started Westword, it has been defined as the free, independent voice of Denver, and we would like to keep it that way. Offering our readers free access to incisive coverage of local news, food and culture. Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
