Hollagramz at the Meadowlark

Ron Cole may not be a name that immediately comes to mind when you think of the best, most well-known electronic artists coming out of Colorado, but that will probably change a great deal in the next year as his music, released under the name Hollagramz (playing Friday, June 25, at the Meadowlark), becomes even more widely available outside of Denver and its hinterlands. If you were one of the lucky twenty people who got a copy of the split Hollagramz and Iuengliss cassette, you heard some retro-futurist electro dance music that would sound dark if not for the bouncy rhythms. The live shows are carefree affairs that feel like you've stepped out of the warehouse and into a '90s rave -- if the DJ had a prescient flash and incorporated 8-bit sounds into the mix.
