You've heard all the basic song structures in here about a million times before. Of course, simplicity is well within the spirit of punk rock, and the players in No Bueno! are hardly committing a crime by taking the first things they can think of — girls and booze, mostly — and riding them over the power chords and cut-time rhythms of their late-'90s punk idols. Considering that it takes about half a listen to memorize all the choruses, these dudes probably drive kids apeshit. Leading off the wistful acoustic track with someone saying "Now we can take our pants off" amounts to taking out an insurance policy against being taken too seriously. But it's working too well: No one feels sorry for the dude who's laughing because he has no pants.

Producing stories on everything from political scandals to the hottest new bands, with gutsy reporting, stylish writing, and staffers who've won everything from the Society of Professional Journalists' Sigma Delta Chi feature-writing award to the Casey Medal for Meritorious Journalism. But with local journalism's existence under siege and advertising revenue setbacks having a larger impact, it is important now more than ever for us to rally support behind funding our local journalism.
