When a group’s CD includes enough promotional packaging to kill a small forest, a lengthy musical manifesto that could put the Unabomber to shame and a grand total of three songs, you’ve got to wonder how much effort went into the crafting of the actual music. The answer is plenty, if you’re talking about Sons of Armageddon, who entertain with song titles as well as music (“Monk Meets the Addams Family,” and “Charlie’s Angel Dust” are among the tunes found here). With their hypnotic and experimental acid-jazz/trance/trip-hop mix, the Sons more than back up the bravado of their presentation, blending everything from baying lambs to lilting ethereal vocals into a gorgeous confusion.
