Support the independent voice of Denver and help keep the future of Westword free.

I had the pleasure and delight to DJ last Wednesday at the Larimer Lounge with some absolute luminaries among Denver's deck wreckers: DJ Ginger, DJ Klaw and the one and only Tyler Snow. The extremely talented Klaw mans the Thursday night Mommy's Little Monster party at Bender's Tavern, with El Brian, Deftron and various guests, and he also takes that party to Las Vegas, San Francisco, New York and elsewhere regularly. Ginger, who frequently joins the Mommy's Little Monster gang, also does a Sunday brunch DJ set at Table 6. Snow was part of the Meadowlark's marvelous Analog Space DJ nights, which have now evolved into Disco Nouveau, which happens on the second Friday of every month at the Meadowlark. As I develop my DJ ears and skills, I can only hope to become half as adept and entertaining as these party starters. Here's my set list for your enjoyment.

As you can see, I included several local musicians and local remixes. Listen for Colorado tracks from Iuengliss, Casio Disco, the Chain Gang of 1974, as well as remixes by Astra Moveo, DJ Hot to Death and (once again) Satan's Eighties Lovechild.
