Gotta love the matter-of-fact nature of the Mansfields. The Colorado Springs outfit, which continues to enjoy frequent spins on Rodney on the Roq's specialty show, Sunday nights on KROQ, took the time to fashion a list of frequently asked questions for anyone who might be interested in doing an interview. In response to a question about the band's influences, the response is to the point: "The Ramones, New York Dolls, Dead Boys, The Cramps...Really, it's a bit more complicated than us just ripping off bands we luv. We are a cocktail of 1950s Rockabilly, 60's Pop, 70's Punk, Glam and Glitter." Indeed. No matter how you slice it, it's classic-sounding punk. So it's more than fitting to hear that these Gearhead recording artists are preparing to embark on a summer tour with the Queers, punk stalwarts in their own right. Details of the tour are forthcoming; we'll have full dates as they become available.
